Oh goodness, I thought that I had set this up to post but hadn’t! Apologies, a day late!

I feel like there are two types of people in this world: people who don’t know about daphne, and people who have killed a daphne trying to keep one for themselves.

A few friends have had big, beautiful shrubs for years.. then one day, the leaves turn yellow. The leaves curl. Or, in the case of last week, the leaves lose their succulent depth, thin, wilt, and we get to watch the daphne die for a few weeks before we remove it.

I knew that there were a couple of daphne- I have purchased and planted Chinese Daphne in Wellington (thanks, Wairere Nursery)- but I did not know that there are roughly 102 species of Daphne in the world.
